Personal Information the App Collects
When you install the App, we are automatically able to access certain types of information from your Shopify account, such as your name and address. Additionally, we collect the following types of personal information from you and/or your customers once you have installed the App: Information about you and others who may access the App on behalf of your store, such as your name, address, email address, phone number, and billing information; Information about individuals who visit your store, such as their IP address, web browser details, time zone, and information about the cookies installed on the particular device; Select information about orders, such as the currency, subtotals, and coupon codes used if any.
We collect personal information directly from the relevant individual, through your Shopify account, such as the name and email address you provide during the installation, or using the following technologies: “Cookies” are data files that are placed on your device or computer and often include an anonymous unique identifier. For more information about cookies, and how to disable cookies, visit http://www.allaboutcookies.org. “Log files” track actions occurring on the Site, and collect data including your IP address, browser type, Internet service provider, referring/exit pages, and date/time stamps. “Web beacons,” “tags,” and “pixels” are electronic files used to record information about how you browse the Site.
In addition to the above information, we also store certain data about API requests, which may include your customer’s email addresses, shipping addresses, and phone numbers. However, this information is stored solely for the purpose of collecting information about how our application uses the API, which allows us to diagnose issues with failed requests, for example. In addition, we store standard server logs, which includes information such as your IP address, your browser’s user agent, the requested URL, and request headers sent by your browser.
How Do We Use Your Personal Information?
We use the personal information we collect from you and your customers in order to provide the Service and to operate the App. For example, we use order information to determine if a coupon generated by our app was used to provide you with valuable statistics, and for billing purposes. Additionally, we use this personal information to: Communicate with you; Optimize or improve the App; and Provide you with information or advertising relating to our products or services.
In addition, we may use aggregated data to better understand how the application is being used, and how we can improve it.
Sharing Your Personal Information
We do not currently share your personal information with any third parties. However, we may share your Personal Information to comply with applicable laws and regulations, to respond to a subpoena, search warrant or other lawful request for information we receive, or to otherwise protect our rights.
Most information we collect, such as coupon codes and order statistics are stored indefinitely, unless and until you ask us to delete this information. In addition, personal information (such as the contents of API responses, IP addresses, user agent, etc.) is routinely removed from our logs after no more than thirty days from the date of collection, unless the information is being actively used to diagnose and/or resolve an issue.
Please note that when information is deleted from our database, it may continue to exist in our backups.
Upon deleting the application from your store, we will generally retain your data for several days in case you change your mind, at which point most personal information, such as generated coupon codes, and order history, will be removed from our database (although not necessarily from Shopify). However, certain accounting-related information, including your name, email, address, and billing history with our application will continue to be retained. Any retained accounting information will be deleted once we are certain we no longer have any tax or legal obligations to retain the data.
